Our culinary pathway program was developed to act as the catalyst for individuals in the community to build a better life for themselves. The skills and training program provides a pathway for job opportunities that were previously unattainable. Our goal is to promote individual economic sustainability through education.
“My goals are to get my certification, have a job by graduation and work hard, focus and build a legacy for my children and my grandchildren. I want to work hard and accomplish my goals so they can see what can be achieved; so they will know they can work hard and go after their goals too.” – Sylvia, class 6
Nourishing the Community
Students from the Roberti Culinary Pathway collectively will prepare over 9,000 free meals annually for the community. The training program is a conduit through which community relationships are established and nurtured. Neighborhood beneficiaries include soup kitchens, community centers, and shelters.
“I think if you love to do something, the greatest thing to do is to share it with other people. We are sharing food with so many people.” – Alejandra, Class 6
Developing relationships with area restaurants, hotels, hospitals and others, the Roberti Culinary Pathway expands the education opportunities offered to our students, as well as making connections for future employment possibilities. The RCP curriculum includes field trips to various food preparation facilities, exposing the students to opportunities to learn about the industry and practice communication skills. Prospective employers are invited to meet each class at one of our Friday Lunches, a meal prepared and served by the students. This is a great opportunity to preview the soon-to-be graduates, potentially finding a new team member!
