Plant, tend & harvest in raised garden beds with community kids. Discuss healthy lifestyle choices through cooking and yoga. Must apply.

Tuesday-Thursday 8:30-12. Opportunities available 1, 2 or 3 days a week.

Community Garden

While families visit the Holy Family Food Pantry, we provide a fun distraction for the kids out in the community garden. We help engage them in planting and caring for the garden, provide crafts, and offer samples of foods from the gardens.

Tuesdays 10-1

 11Junior Chefs

Students will prepare a different food item (or recipe) each week that they will have for lunch that day. Volunteers needed for food prep, student assistance, and clean up.

Summer Reading & Math ClubIMG_8076

Help lead community kids of all ages in activities and crafts related to various reading themes and math levels.

Tuesdays & Thursdays 1-3

Windy City Farm Lunches

Work alongside community members to help prepare lunches for twenty-five to thirty students and staff at the nearby Green Belt Program. Lunches highlight a different fresh vegetable each week.

Looking for volunteers to provide instruction and assistance with basic sewing skills, both on one of our 6 sewing machines and with other skills.

Mondays 9:30-11:30 adult class, Thursdays 4-5:30 pre-teens -dates TBD



Seeking any interested and qualified parties to lead various wellness classes.

Slow Cooker Class

Offered in 4-week sessions throughout the year, kitchen assistants needed to help in food preparation and serving class participants. Also, opportunity open to apply to lead a class.

Make connections & build relationships with & offer positive role modeling for community kids. Help with homework and reading assignments, make crafts and art projects, play games, lead group in making snacks and recipes.
